Installation Guide: WAS 7 plug-in on Eclipse

ONLINE INSTALLATION

1) Installing IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 Developer Tools for Eclipse 3.x  online by going to the Market Place. Go to Help > Eclipse MarketPlace > Search and install IBM WebSphere  Application Server V7.0 Developer Tools for Eclipse 3.x.

Make sure that your Eclipse is the latest version, otherwise, update your Eclipse first, by going to Help > Check for Updates, before installing the IBM WebSphere Application.

2) Once your eclipse is already updated, the installation process of IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 Developer Tools for Eclipse 3.x continues. Confirm the selected features and click Next.

3) Accept the terms and license agreements and click Finish.

4) Installation of Software may take awhile, depending on your internet connection.

5) Once installation is done, you need to restart Eclipse and proceed with the set-up for the server runtime. Right click the server panel and choose WebSphere Application Server 7.0 then click Next.

6) Specify the WebSphere Application Server directory (Example /opt/WebSphere/AppServer).

7) You can now start/stop your server and run your applications.

OFFLINE INSTALLATION

You may also choose to install IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 Developer Tools for Eclipse 3.x offline by downloading was 7 update, then Help > Install New Software. Add a name and the location of the extracted folder in your local drive. The rest of the installation process is similar to the Online Installation instruction numbers 2-7

Again, Make sure that your Eclipse is the latest version, otherwise, update your Eclipse first, by going to Help > Check for Updates, before installing the IBM WebSphere Application.
